Sun and acne: are we really well informed ?

There are many myths about the sun and its beneficial effects on acne. However, are we really well informed?

There are many myths about the sun and its beneficial effects on acne. However, are we really well informed?

Here are two myths about it!

UV rays are a good way to fight acne.
FALSE Contrary to popular beliefs, sun exposure is harmful for oily skin prone to acne. In fact, it contributes to the thickening of the skin’s stratum corneum, which stimulates the appearance of comedones. Even more, it accentuates the pigmentation of residual acne scars. Thereby, in the short term, the pimples are less visible and seem to have disappeared but it’s only temporary!

All sunscreens provide pimples.
FALSE It is true that some sunscreens clog the pores of the skin and can exacerbate an acne problem. However, all Eau thermale Avène sunscreens are non-comedogenic and will not clog skin pores. In addition, two of them will even regulate your sebum production: the High Protection Emulsion SPF 40 and the Moderate Protection Emulsion SPF 20. It is therefore important to choose a non-comedogenic, oil-free sunscreen, especially if you have oily skin.
